World's Leading Environmentalist Politician Wins the Nobel; Calls the Climate Crisis "a moral and spiritual challenge"

advertisement

"We face a true planetary emergency. The climate crisis is not a political issue, it is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity. It is also our greatest opportunity to lift global consciousness to a higher level," he said in a statement.

Gore also said he would donate all of his share of the proceeds to a non-profit organisation that is devoted to changing public opinion in the US and around the world about the urgency of solving the climate crisis.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

But anyone who watches this video hears the whining, clearly partisan digs.
Everybody sing!
"All hail King Al Gore. All hail our global high priest! He who sees. He who knows. He who will lead us straight."
GAG.

Well when a party in power makes it their official business to deny that there's even a problem, what are we supposed to do?

Possibly one could look at facts and not make them up?
      That might be good.
